THREE high-value drug targets, three drug surrenderers and 107 others were arrested while P1.16 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate police operations across Cebu City on Thursday night, August 17, police said.
The arrests were made under "Oplan Pokemon" (One Time, Big Time), simultaneous operations of the city police against illegal drugs and criminality.
Eighteen medium packs and 134 small packs of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” weighing a total of 98 grams were seized. The haul has a street value of P1.16 million, based on Dangerous Drugs Board valuation.
Police also confiscated one .22 caliber revolver, one Carbine magazine, two .45 caliber pistol magazines with a total of 25 live ammunition, assorted drugs and gambling paraphernalia, P1,636.75 cash in different denominations believed to be proceeds of illegal activities, and 15 illegal gambling machines.
Of those arrested, 59 persons were caught for drugs, 32 for illegal gambling, six for physical injuries, four for theft, and 12 others for various violations. (JOB/SunStar Cebu)
