AS PART of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, the Visayan Electric Co. Inc. (Veco) signed a memorandum of agreement with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) for the linemen development training project.
It aims to provide scholarships to financially-challenged yet deserving individuals. A total of 14 out-of-school youth have been chosen as beneficiaries of the project.
The scholars will undergo electrical installation and maintenance course with free training cost, assessment fee and allowance provided by Veco.
The successful Tesda graduates will then be trained at the Veco Development Academy-Sirao Campus in the mountain barangay of Sirao in Cebu City for the full basic lineman’s training.
They will be provided with an allowance as well as free transportation to the campus.
