A COUPLE was found dead inside their rented room in Maracas, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City, on Sunday afternoon, September 24.

Senior Inspector Samson Go, deputy chief of the Mabolo Police Station, said the couple, identified as Jerson Lawas, 28, and Pruana Apole, 48, who were live-in partners, were discovered bathed in their own blood at 5:15 p.m.

Apole was found in the living room with several stab wounds on her body and the man was lying inside another room with a gunshot wound on the head, Go said.

Homicide investigators found a caliber .38 revolver near Lawas' body.
Authorities believed the couple had a fight before the incident.

"We are looking at the possibility that the man may have stabbed his partner during the height of their fight and later, shot himself," Go said.

The knife used to stab Apole has yet to be recovered. (JOB)
