A POLICE official is reportedly on the hitlist of a suspected drug lord, who is now in detention.
An intelligence report stated that the bounty for Senior Inspector Alejandro Batobalonos was placed at P500,000.
Batobalonos, in a phone interview, said he does not fear the threat, adding he is always praying for his safety.
"Dili na nako bag-o ang mga threat. Naanad nako ana. Trabaho lang ning ako, (Threats are not new to me. I'm used to it. I'm only doing my job,)" he said.
Batobalonos was the chief of Santander Police Station, before he went on schooling for career advancement.
Before his transfer to Santander early this year, he served as chief of Danao City Police Station last year.
During his term, several drug pushers were killed and arrested.
Batobalonos had served Argao Police Station also as its chief.
Batobalonos's active campaign against illegal drugs reportedly earned the ire of slain drug lord Jeffrey "Jaguar" Diaz, who also wanted him dead. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
