PDEA, CCPO to monitor drivers in drug trade

Wednesday, September 27, 2017

LAW enforcement units will coordinate with Grab and Uber officials in Cebu to prevent drug syndicates from using the drivers as couriers.

Agent Earl Rallos of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7 and Cebu City Police Office Director Joel Doria said they will help in detecting any illegal activities of drivers.

In Manila, 10 Grab drivers were used as drug couriers in the syndicates’ new modus operandi.

Rallos and Doria said the drivers should report suspicious packages to authorities.

Grab and Uber are classified as transport network vehicles services (TNVs). (KAL)
