THREE persons were nabbed on the first day of the implementation of the election gun ban around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, October 1, in Barangay Pugalo, Alcoy, Cebu.

The police team led by Inspector Sherwin Abellare, the town police chief, caught John Kevin Gocela Fuentes, 22; Michaela Guevarra Molle, 20; and Niño Mier Gocela Hipulan during a checkpoint on the national highway in Barangay Pugalo.

The authorities seized .38 paltik revolver loaded with five bullets and a .22 black widow paltik revolver loaded with three bullets.

The arrested persons will be facing charges for violating the Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban.
