POLICE Regional Office-Central Visayas Director Jose Mario Espino said Ermita, Cebu City Village Chief Felicisimo "Imok" Rupinta's campaign against illegal drugs can encourage other houses to strive to be drug free.
Rupinta on Thursday, October 5, led the village officials in placing on houses posters with a printed message, "This house is a drug-free home."
Espino said it is a good practice.
"That is a positive approach. We welcome that. It only shows that they are already sharing the responsibility in getting Cebu to be a drug-free province," he said.
Ermita is one of the drug-infested villages in Cebu City.
Rupinta said that around 15 to 20 percent of 2,000 houses in Ermita are affected by illegal drugs.
He said Sitio Bato is heavily affected by illegal drugs. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
