Korean tagged in P200M scam, falls

Friday, October 13, 2017

THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 arrested a Korean national inside a hotel in Barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City for allegedly being involved in a P200-million estafa case.

Three years after he went into hiding, Park Jung Ho was caught through a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Generosa Labra of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 23 in Cebu City.

The warrant was issued last March 13, 2014 yet.

“He went into hiding so we have really been looking for him,” said Special Agent Arnel Pura in an interview.

Pura said that Jung Ho, together with his brother Park Jung Kwan, allegedly swindled millions from fellow Korean nationals. They shelled out money in bogus investment.

Jung Ho was caught at 3 p.m. last Tuesday inside his hotel room while Jung Kwan was caught by NBI 7 operatives last Aug. 31.

Kwan was detained in the Cebu City Jail in Barangay Kalunasan for syndicted estafa and qualified theft. (JOB)
