THOUSANDS of Cebuanos, Catholic religious and supporters of the late Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal joined the requiem mass and funeral rites on Thursday morning, October 26.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office estimated the crowd at around 55,000 as of 11:40 a.m.
Rescue units recorded 25 persons who fainted and experienced dizziness. They were given immediate medical attention.
The Cebu City Police Office deployed 800 officers and force multipliers to guard the rites for the late cardinal.
Personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Central Visayas were also present with K-9 units, as well as the Bureau of Fire Protection, Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation, and Cebu City Transportation Office. (Johanna Marie Bajenting/SunStar Cebu)
