CEBU City Councilor Dave Tumulak urged local vendors to register early to be able to avail themselves of the limited slots allocated for them.
“We are asking for the local vendors to have an early registration since we only have limited slots in every area. We cannot accommodate everyone who wish to sell (their goods) this upcoming Sinulog 2018,” said Tumulak, the deputy mayor for police matters.
The registration will start in the middle of this month.
The City Hall’s Division for the Welfare of the Urban Poor (DWUP) will use color coded identification system for the registered street vendors.
The DWUP, together with the police, barangay tanods and a demolition team will regularly check vendors to ensure that they are observing the rules and regulations of the City Hall.
“No ID (identification card), no documents and permits will be caught,” said Genevieve Alcoseba, DWUP operations head.
As of Dec. 5, at least 1,000 vendors have already registered before the DWUP. (Trisha Oliveros, USC Intern)
