Acting police chief of Cebu City assumes office in the midst of Sinulog security preparations

Saturday, January 13, 2018

EFFECTIVE yesterday, the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) has a new acting city director. Senior Supt. Angel Geñorga assumed the post of acting city director, replacing Senior Supt. Joel Doria, who will undergo a two-week training in Japan.

Councilor Dave Tumulak said that Geñorga paid a courtesy call on Mayor Tomas Osmeña.

While he found the timing of the change poor, considering that City has started to celebrate Sinulog 2018, Tumulak assured that public safety will not be compromised.

Supt. Artemio Ricabo, deputy city director for administration of the Cebu City Police Office, said they just received the information yesterday.

However, Ricabo said they will support the newly-installed officer-in-charge of the CCPO.

“All is set for the Sinulog security preparations,” Ricabo said. (RVC, JOB)
