FIVE suspected pushers were caught on Tuesday, February 13, in a series of operations in Danao City, Cebu.
Superintendent Jaime Quiocho Jr., the city police chief, identified the suspects as Lovely Lawria Penas, Dennis Dumao-o Espinosa, Lemuel Capitan Garro, Andro Sabas Mangas, and Malvin Bado Mangas Jr.
Seized from the suspects were 28 small packs of white crystals believed to be “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P18,290, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.
The operation started at 5:53 p.m. and ended at 10:17 p.m. in the villages of Guinsay, Poblacion, and Looc.
The anti-narcotics operatives also seized P1,350 believed to be proceeds of illegal drug trade.
Suspects will be facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Danao City police's second most wanted person, an alleged member of a gun-for-hire group, was caught at 9 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, in Tabunok, Maslog. He did not resist.
Quiocho said the suspect Edgar Casas Bueno is facing two counts of murder before the sala of Danao City Regional Trial Court Branch 25.
Bueno, 43, was caught with two others for illegal possession of firearms in Danao City last November. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
