MORE than 500 junior and senior high school students from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) attended the 16th Don Vicente Rama Memorial Lecture.
Atty. Paulino Yabao, USPF president, said on his keynote speech that the younger generation should be encouraged to serve Cebu as what the late Don Vicente Rama did.
Also in attendance were Rama clan and Barug Rama members.
Clara May Mallorca, a Grade 12 student, said that she enjoyed the lecture because she learned about Don Vicente’s contributions to Cebu’s political history.
“Much hope can be expected from the young, like you, my dear students. In countless ways, because of your genuine and selfless “pagpakabana” or concern for others and for our country, you can foster improvement of public service and our nation’s quality of life, and bring forth an effective government responsive to the needs of the people,” Yabao said on his closing remarks.
