A FORMER village official was caught in a drug bust at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Purok Centro, Barangay Canamucan, Compostela town, Cebu.
Senior Inspector Junafe Ruiz Vergara, the town police chief, identified the suspect as Jonathan Brigoli Dechos, 38, a former councilor of Barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.
The suspect yielded six packs of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu," to the team led by Vergara.
The contraband has a Dangerous Drugs Board value of P20,000.
Drug paraphernalia and a marked P1,000 bill used in the drug bust were also recovered from the suspect, a newly identified personality operating in the town.
Vergara said they are still investigating to determine the supplier of the suspect, who will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
