Sanchez to bring up Cebu backbone road with PNoy

IF President Benigno Aquino III has time to spare, Vice Gov. Gregorio Sanchez intends to make a follow-up on his proposed trans-axial project that he had submitted during one of Aquino’s presidential visits in Cebu.
Sanchez attended the 65th anniversary of the Liberal Party (LP) yesterday in Manila together with some LP elected officials from Cebu.
He said he was not sure if he can actually open this up to the president because it was a huge gathering for LP. He said he had not received a reply. If ever they can discuss, he said, he will also mention the mayors’ assistance in some infrastructure projects like school buildings and roads.
He said he had met Aquino at the airport, but he didn’t have a chance to ask about the trans-axial project.
LP Provincial Head Hilario “Junjun” Davide III said that during their meeting in the morning, there was no specific discussion of projects, including Cebu.
Davide was also in Manila yesterday for the gathering. He said some of the officials who attended were Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district), Sanchez and Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes.
