BE RESORTS, formerly known as Microtel Grand Resorts Mactan, is now letting people know about its transition into a better and more affordable beach resort.

“We wanted to be in property management, and Microtel was going through a different direction than us, so the management decided to have its own identity and that was the start of Be resorts,” said Garry Garcia, general manager of Be.

The transition happened at the beginning of the year without fanfare while the management was making improvements and renovations before its grand launching.

Improvements include new facilities, such as a spa and the Be Active zone, which has a Wii area, billiards, day care, manual soccer and other indoor games.

These complement the resort’s aqua sports activities.

With more than P2 million invested in the renovation, Be resort will also add new rooms with bigger beds and spaces on the 5th and 6th floors, while keeping the design and the ambiance the resort has been known for.

Be Resort will expand to Bohol. It will have its groundbreaking for the facility in Panglao by the third quarter of this year.

“When tourists travel to Cebu, they also visit Bohol and vice versa. That is why we positioned ourselves in both islands.

Central Visayas tourism is really good, and we want to be a part of that,” said Garcia.

The Bohol facility will have a similar concept, but it will also have unique characteristics.

With the construction of the Panglao Bohol International Airport, many hotels and resorts are expanding in Bohol, boosting its tourism potential.

Garcia, who has worked in the hotel industry in different countries, said tourism is a dynamic industry which everyone can benefit from.

Be aims to become a top Filipino-managed refreshing face in hospitality.
