THE son of former Cebu City mayor and now Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district) denied earlier reports that he will be running for Guadalupe barangay captain this October.

Miguel said he was surprised when he learned about the report and wondered where the rumor came from.

He said he is busy right now in setting up a business, which is bullet reloading for private shooters in Cebu.

The younger Osmeña, who will turn 26 next month, said he has no plans of joining politics. He recently graduated from his baccalaureate degree in Philosophy as summa cum laude at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Miguel assured those interested to run for barangay captain in Guadalupe that he has no plan to run against them.

In a separate interview, the congressman said he is not pushing Miguel to join politics and his son is also not interested.

Rep. Osmeña believes the report came out because Guadalupe Barangay Captain Eugenio Faelnar is under investigation for the ongoing implementation of barangay projects in the City.

Replacement

Faelnar’s son, Dino, a barangay councilor of Guadalupe, is reportedly eyeing to replace his father, who is on his last term.

City Councilor Margot Osmeña, Miguel’s mother, said her son is old enough to plan his own life and they don’t want to dictate him.

“We don’t plan his life. He’s old enough. Wala gyud mi si Tommy maghisgot about ana. I mean, tulo ra mi sa pamilya, enough na nang duha sa pulitika uy (Tommy and I never mentioned that to him. It’s enough that there’s two of us in politics),” Margot said.
