Neri, Borromeo rule Coral Tee

CEBU Country Club junior golf chairman Jovi Neri and partner Andre Borromeo took the overall lowest gross title of the 29th Coral Invitational golf tournament last Saturday at the CCC course.

Neri and Borromeo fired a 64 in the opening day and added 65 in their second day for a 129.

Though the Coral Tee ran for three days, each of the two-man teams only played for two rounds.

The Lowest Net title, on the other hand, went to Kim Jae Eun and Nestor Cabrera with a 174.

Kim also won the individual lowest net for his 49 on the opening day. He had a 42 in the second day to finish with 91.

Marko Sarmiento took home the individual lowest gross title with a 37 in the opening day. He finished with a 72 after a 35 in the second day.

Alex Garcia and Paul Lee took home the Class A title with their 165, while Gabriel Yap Jr. and Anthony Bejar took second with 162. Sarmiento and Kiyofuni Takahashi finished third with 152.

Ricky Brown and Tom Ware won Class after firing a 160, just a point ahead of Vito Laferlita and Michael Go. Ven Lacustales and Arnold Tan was third with 158.

Collin Go and Philip Huang took Class C with 164 with Jerry Ong Uy and Ari Clinto Lee (157) and Peter Yap and Leo Quimco (154) at second and third, respectively.

The seniors division title went to Jose Baldemor and Horacio Choie Ramos who fired a 160, while Joseph Yu and Edward Yu finished second at 159.

Alfonso Tan and Lino Daugs were at third with 151.

Meanwhile, Yasuaki Suda and Shigeru Matsui’s 86 earned them the best score for Day 1, while Ken Nakada and Felix Villanueva scored 80 for the best score in the seniors division.

Second day winners for the best scores were Henry Uy and Vicente Go (79) and David Lu and Rudy Cuenca (77) in the seniors division.

Wyben Briones and Don Calvo and Willy Lim and Danny Pizarro also won the best in uniform award.
