Neri: An enchanted evening in Amara

Nelia G. Neri
Eve

AMARA is an idyllic seaside residential community in Liloan developed around the revered Bagacay Lighthouse. A joint venture between Cebu Holdings Inc. (an Ayala Land affiliate) and Coastal Highpoint Ventures Development Inc., it is the first and only one of its kind in Cebu.

Considered the heart of Amara is its clubhouse, a complex of three separate pavilion-type structures sitting on 7,200 square meters of multi-level terrain with a wondrous view of the great blue yonder. Adding to the charm and beauty of the place is a century-old Calumpang tree with graceful spreading branches.

Inauguration day was a much anticipated affair, especially for the lot owners. They have been looking forward to use the clubhouse amenities, which include a 25-meter lap pool with a Jacuzzi in the lower level, a pool for kids, the tent bar and the social/conference halls.

It was sundown on a Sunday when the Amara clubhouse was formally inaugurated. The setting looked surreal with a setting sun and the sound of rushing waves in the background. As night came, soft lights glimmered around the poolside garden and a gentle sea breeze filled the area. Definitely an enchanted evening!

On hand to welcome the guests were CHI president Francis Monera, VP-Real Estate Development head Tetta Baad; and the rest of the CHI team.

Also very much around were CHVI incorporators headed by the patriarch of the Chui clan, Mr. Ramon Chiu, and its president Consul Antonio Chiu.

A simple program unfolded with lively entertainment numbers, and a little briefing on the Amara development. Dinner came next, and then fireworks lit the skies.
