UK-based contemporary artist Philippe Aird has an ongoing exhibit of his works at Cebu White Sands in Maribago with the proceeds of the sales earmarked for the victims of recent typhoons. He has developed a special medium, which results in a liquid glass-like effect at the surface of the painting, showing thousands of pigment particles frozen in time. His works are in public and private collections in Spain, Canada, Australia, Japan and the USA.

New York City was the main destination of the fam-trip organized by Korean Airlines for its top travel agents in Cebu but the group (headed by Paul Han, Korean Air-Cebu regional manager) headed to the neighboring tourist spots including Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC and the Niagara Falls. A hectic but fun trip, they all say!

It was celebration time for Kevin and Joy Go when their precious Cheska turned all of one year old. The doting parents invited friends to dinner at Casino Español, never mind if their little princess was oblivious to the “big do.” Making happy noises as well were the proud grandparents, Maning and Carmen Go.

The classy launch of the new BMW 7 Series at the Performance Auto BMW Showroom in Nivel Hills featured the music of concert pianist Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz. Frontliners were Max O. Borromeo, chairman of Performance BMW Cebu, Jose Daniel R. Borromeo, vice president, and Demosthenes Y. Rosales, president of Asian Carmakers Corporation.

Golden Haven Memorial Park has a new feature in its premises—an Italian-inspired columbary called Palazzo Laterano.
Highlighting the open-air structure are the life-size statues of Christ the Redeemer and the four evangelists—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. On the day of the launching, there was a special lighting ceremony with the Huni choir providing background music.

Tree-planting activity has always been an advocacy of the Mandaue City College. The most recent activity was at the Casili Ecopark in Barangay Casili when the MCC Natural Science students bared their hands and went to work. Yes, it was a proud day for MCC officer-in-charge Dr. Susana B. Cabahug.
