Online advertising pushed

AN ONLINE advertising network has encouraged Cebu-based industries to engage in online advertising to become fully competitive in today’s digital environment.

Resty Magno, managing director of Admax Network Philippines Inc., said that with online advertising, companies would be able to reach a wider audience, get their brands identified and become highly competitive.

Admax Network conducted its first digital campaign in Cebu last Saturday at the Casino Español, tapping 35 Cebu-based industries through Campaigns Cebu.

“We are tapping the Cebu market because we have seen that about 65 percent of Internet traffic is outside the Metro Manila,” Magno told Sun.Star Cebu.

Cebu, in particular, is a potential market with the presence of job opportunities, publications that cater to the local market and social networking, he added.

“We are hoping that we will be able to get the interest of many Cebu-based companies to engage in digital marketing,” he said.

Admax Network is part of the DMS Group of Companies founded in 2004. It has offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Indonesia.

The global economic crunch that has hit the different industries worldwide has been a “blessing” to the digital business, Magno said.

Although the crisis has prompted companies to cut their budgets, particularly in marketing, more companies have shifted from the traditional to online marketing.

“There was a 15 percent growth in the digital business despite the gloomy economic situation,” he said.

Magno added that companies have shifted to online because the online market is getting bigger every year.

“There is a growth of two to three percent every year in the number of young Filipinos or the ‘yuppies’ going online,” he said.

Aside from Cebu, Admax is considering tapping other major cities in the Visayas and Mindanao through Campaigns Cebu.
