After Corona: the CJ PNoy would not hire

WITH the initial hint from President Aquino he'd appoint an independent chief justice, maybe a Supreme Court (SC) outsider, there's little for speculators to work on.
But it wouldn't be reckless to assume the next Renato Corona wouldn't be:
--Anyone resembling Renato Corona, who looks, talks, and walks like him, not one who hoards dollars, or has a 30-year feud with his wife's family;
--An associate justice designated by then president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and hasn't shown that he is free of GMA's leash;
--A jurist who has acquired reputation for heeding pied pipers, usually chamber lawyers who don't practice law and yet play the tune that fixes decisions;
--A senator who voted against Corona as the appointment would be tarnished benefit (except Sen. Lito Lapid, if he were a brilliant lawyer, as his vote prompted by a visual aid was as honest as could be in that trial); or
--An aspirant who helped dig out or fabricate evidence against Corona or led investigators to where the skeletons lay.

But wait. Didn't PNoy say he waged the campaign to unseat Corona and would go after other SC justices who conspired to foil his agenda?
PNoy wants justices who wouldn't vote against his policy or program, not the kind that struck down his first executive order or the creation of his Truth Commission.
It would be hard for PNoy to name an independent chief justice. Wouldn't the next CJ be someone PNoy could trust to defend his interests?
