New Year-A A +A
Tuesday, December 31, 2013
THERE is a kind of race towards a certain end between people and a season after a count of twelve months, which the early geniuses among men called a year and which the same early human thinkers agreed further to subdivide the month into thirty and thirty-one days.
This allowed an extra day in February every so many numbers of years to cover for what they had calculated to be lacking in the count every so many number of years.
In any case, those early geniuses had all tried to explain the so-called wonders of the the world’s creation, actually the miracle of the Master Creator of mankind, the one from whose name the term Christmas or Yule as we now also accept and believe in, is grandly derived.
But as spinoff for this cycle of seasons and joyous global adventure in human faith and genius, we see further on how the day was divided into 24 hours and the hour into 60 minutes and the minute to 60 seconds to complete the wonderful division of the so-called time, as we call the year.
This is what those we call the early geniuses of mankind sort of devised to simplify our understanding of how we arrived at the moment we call Yule or Christmas through hundreds of years and dozens of decades.
They came up with the wonderful innovation of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, centuries--all based on the movement of the Moon that moves around the Earth, and the Earth around the Sun.
Just imagine all these miracle of arrangements and vibrant engagements of coincidences that brought about our annual celebration of Christmas and the renewing of the year in regular cycles of happenings that emanate from the mere second of a minute to the hour of a day, the month of a year.
These give us the renewal of the year after the twelfth month we call December and the New Year we call January, including the exact date of their occurrence,
Let it not be said that this arrangement of “time and circumstance”--which has become a verbal social cliche in usage by people--does not connote a rather deep significance to the cycle of our lives as we live through the conundrum of a global condition that is generally beyond the general understanding of ordinary minded members of the average humanity.
As we face once again the truly miraculous cycle of the seasons in our lives, we can only sit and appreciate.
Today, as we celebrate another moment of renewing our acceptance of another year in our life, we can only thank the Master Creator of us all that He has, with all His good will, extended to us the enjoyment of another cycle of His three hundred sixty five days of his year.
