P.S. to Vhong-Deniece

-A A +A

WOW, this issue does have a lot of steam in it. Vhong Navarro is fortunate to have ABS-CBN watching his back for him. Allow me to explain.

As I understood from one of his interviews, Navarro, when he came back to the condo of Deniece Cornejo, had a gut feeling that something was amiss.

He could have, with common sense, been proactive on his premonition on how his continuing association with Cornejo reeked with bad news for him yet, decided otherwise and chose poorly.

Did it ever cross the minds of his zealots that, had Navarro been thinking more with
his gray matter and less with his balls, he would have spared himself from the upheaval that he is going through now?

The network giant's daily crusade on a broad front, in support of their talent, greatly contributed to shoring up public opinion to Navarro's side.

A case in point: a treasure trove of information on Cedric Lee's enterprises became public on national news. It would seem that no effort was spared in digging up who Cedric Lee is, and the businesses or persons doing commerce with him.

Some information does not even have any bearing at all to the issue at hand.

Moreover, the efforts from those who are Navarro's zealots have successfully crucified Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo and their minions even before the courts have decided. A terrible sword the media has when it is on a juggernaut to expose how much dirt an individual has.

However, I could not help but notice that very little is being said about how Navarro clearly was on a mission to sow his oats on the girl, to say nothing of the extent of the actor's womanizing activities that may have been the root cause of his problem from the very start .

Not that I am for the villain, the vixen and their cohorts but to chastize Cedric, Deniece and their thugs without emphasizing, as well, how Vhong's willful and monumental misstep is equally to blame does nothing to tip the scales of fair judgement of the contending parties involved to the center where it should be.

If the courts rule that Cedric Lee, Deniece, and their minions should burn because they deserved it, then so say we all.

Prosperity in modern Philippine society has bred numerous alpha males with the taste for exotic pieces of flesh . Hopefully the next alpha male that foolishly decides to walk inside the Lioness' den won't whine like a stuck pig when she gives him a bloody nose.--Emil Blonsky

Held hostage

On the story about Velez Hospital holding a patient hostage, I am thankful that finally a family has had the courage to speak up about this barbaric practice that constantly occurs in this country.

Since I lived here, I have heard many accounts of this happening, of patients dying at the entrance, being turned away, or bodies being held after death because of lack of available funds.

I know of at least two foreigners who have returned to their home countries because in the middle of the night, with business office closed, or ATM not functioning, they were turned away because they didn’t have cash on their person.

In both cases it was a critical emergency.

I personally had difficulty checking out of a hospital because the business office was closed. I, however, raised enough hell that they got a person to accept my money and give me a receipt.

I realize this is a very backward third world country, but it is a country that continuously calls itself “Christian.”--an American in Cebu
