Benito, Wilma, Joma: 2 dogs and a cat-A A +A

TWO dogs and a cat belonging to top leaders of Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and New People's Army (NPA) were released but owners Benito and Wilma Tiamzon detained with the animals are still in custody.
The pets may have provided some insight into the personality of the CPP-NPA chieftains. They are dog-and-cat persons who, studies say, talk to animals, are nature lovers and generally optimists.
Is that true of Benito and Wilma?
In talking with their pets, the couple must have things to tell other than communist dogmas. Constant hiding required them to stay in the mountains, which was as close to nature as they could get. They must be optimists, having waged the war against the state for so long, but some of the upbeat mood might have fled after their capture.
Unlike other pet lovers, Benito and Wilma named two dogs after themselves.
Narcissistic? Maybe not, maybe deep love or sense of humor.
A lawyer has two dogs, "Martial Law" and "Gloria," named after two objects he intensely loathed.
The Tiamzons named their cat after Joma (Jose Ma. Sison) who directs CPP-NPA from a faraway haven where armed forces don't hound enemies of the state.
Which sentiment for Joma, do you think, does the cat's name convey?
After examining pet food left at the Tiamzons' safe-house in Cebu, where more dogs and cats were found, the AFP gloated that the CPP-NPA spent more for pets than for their foot soldiers.
It's doubtful if that propaganda would strike a chord among pet lovers, many of whom spend a fortune on their dogs and cats.
