Gasoline station

-A A +A

Thursday, May 15, 2014

WHEN I’m on M. Velez St., Guadalupe, Cebu City, I always see a fenced area that is formerly a gas station. The Regional Trial Court shut it down after some DA compound residents filed a petition to close the facility way back in 2009.

With this, I encourage homeowners to bar the establishment of gasoline stations in residential areas for the following reasons:.

--The law says that no gasoline service stations are allowed to operate within one hundred meters from public or private school, public library, playground, church, or hospital.

--A gasoline station in residental areas can endanger the lives and safety of the people in case of fire.

--The irritating smell of gasoline can expose residents to frequent colds, asthma, cough, etc.

--Gasoline station structures could violate the Building and Fire Safety Codes. --It could hamper the flow of traffic.--(Jake Jacinto)
