MOST people believe that this Sunday’s boxing extravaganza at the $1.2 billion Cowboys Stadium will be another easy victory for Manny Pacquiao.
However, unlike most fans and pundits, and not to mention his trainer Freddie Roach, who said that the fight won’t go the distance, Pacquiao thinks that Clottey has a fighting chance against him.

“Sinasabi nilang kayang-kaya ko ang makakalaban mula sa Ghana, Africa. Pero, sa boksing, ang pagiging sobrang kumpiyansa ay nakasisira,”the 31-year-old pound-for-pound king wrote in his column at philboxing.com.
“It has never occurred to me to be over confident in this fight because I believe Clottey has the ability to throw a punch and to adopt the strategy that could beat me,” he added in Filipino.
Pacquiao will be on his first defense of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown, which he won against Miguel Cotto last year in Las Vegas.
On the other hand, the presidents of two of the four major boxing sanctioning bodies have different views on the outcome of the bout.
“This defense I expect will be difficult for Pacquiao,” WBO Francisco Valcarcel told examiner.com. “Joshua has never been stopped in his career. With a crowd of 50,000 anything can happen.”
World Boxing Council president Jose Sulaiman, on the other hand, said simply, “Pacquiao will win.”
