STEPHEN Padilla proved that he is still the deadliest shooter in the league as the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños ace gunner came up with the highest number of three point conversions at the close of the Smart-Liga Pilipinas tour elimination phase of Conference 3.
Padilla sank a total of nine triples in Cebu’s 123-97 win over the Zamboanga Uno Latinos last October 28 in the Zamboanga City Leg.

Two other Cebuano gunners tied at the second place—former M. Lhuillier player Alex Cainglet, who now plays for the Mandaue-Cebu Landmasters squad and Patrick Cabahug, the star guard of the Misamis Oriental Meteors. Both had six conversions each.
Cainglet scored his triples in Mandaue’s game against the Uno Latinos last Oct. 17 in Mandaue City, while Cabahug scored his during the Meteors’ win over EKB-Apayao Rapids last Oct. 28 in the Zamboanga City Leg.
The other Niños who topped the statistics were forward/centers Marlon Basco and Ariel Mepaña.
Basco topped the Total Rebounds Made and the Offensive Rebounds Made departments, while Me-paña led the Defensive Rebounds Made.
Basco pulled down a total of 18 rebounds including 12 on offensive boards in MLKP’s 96-90 win over the Rapids last Sept. 16 at the Quezon Leg, while Mepaña’s 13 defensive rebounds made during the finals of the Quezon Leg against the Quezon Red Oilers came out as the league’s best output.
