A DISTRIBUTOR of digital cameras unveiled to the Cebu market last Saturday its latest digital camera models.
“We have come to Cebu to introduce the latest Pentax products guaranteed at high quality,” said William Sia, president and chief executive officer of Super East Asia Enterprises Inc. (SEAEI) during the product launching at the Formo at the Banilad Town Center.
SEAEI is the exclusive Philippine distributor for Pentax Digital Cameras.
The laterst digital camera models launched by Pentax were Optio E90, Optio H90 and Optio I-10. Two models are still in the pipeline, the W90 and X90.
Sia said they launched the latest models in Cebu first because of the Pentax presence in the Cebu market. Pentax has a factory in the Mactan Economic Processing Zone. The company also has other factories and offices located in the regions of Europe, North America, and Asia.
High quality
Sia said their latest models are guaranteed to be of high quality and are reasonably priced.
The Optio E90 model is a 10-megapixel CCD with a 3X wide-angle optical zoom and high sensitivity shake reduction mode. It is priced at P6,990.
The Optio H90 model features a 12.1-megapixel CCD with 5X wide-angle optical zoom and 720p HD video capture at 30fps and is priced at P10,995.
The Optio I-10, on the other hand, is priced at P16,990. This model features a 12.1-megapixel CCD with 5X wide-angle optical zoom. It also features 11 digital filters (starburst) with a macro Mode up to 8cm and high sensitivity of ISO 6400.
The products are available in malls, particularly in Colours Digital Photo and CameraHaus.
SEAEI vice-president for operations Robenson Ong Lo said the latest models are targeted at the younger generation.
“There is really a growing demand for these gadgets and in response we are introducing to the market more styles, colors and cyber-features to choose from,” he said.
Despite the global economic downturn, Lo said the camera industry has remained resilient.
“The industry grew by 28 percent last year according to the latest survey on digital sales conducted by GfK,” he said. Gfk is Germany’s largest market research institute.
He said the industry targets a 25 percent growth this year.
SEAEI, Lo said, hopes to double its sales with the introduction of these latest models.
