Thursday, April 22, 2010
BRINGING Asian food classic specialties to Cebu, Classic Savory opened its second branch outside Luzon at SM City Cebu. Its first store is located at Robinsons Cybergate which opened last month.
Its main specialty dish is the whole chicken pegged at P345 which is best-known for its tender and juicy meat making it an all-time favorite.
The restaurant also serves soups, seafoods, meat dishes, vegetables, noodles and desserts. Among its bestsellers are pancit canton, savory shanghai rolls, and lechon macau. It also serves combo meals good for two to eight persons.
Its bestseller, the whole chicken, is the brainchild of the Ting family who started the food chain in 1950. Its first establishment in Escota was named Savory.
It was renamed Classic Savory in 2007 following improvements on their menu and overall ambiance.
“Classic Savory offers quality food and service following high standards of sanitation and crew training,” said Kristoferson Ting, Classic Savory operations head.
Two-thirds of the 29 restaurant establishments of Classic Savory are located in malls. The mall locations have more foot traffic said Ting.
Furthermore, he said that the dishes are freshly-cooked using quality ingredients from local suppliers.
“We will bring to Cebu our malunggay noodles this May,” revealed Ting.
By 2011, Classic Savory will be opening three to five new branches as part of its expansion plans. (Roxanne M. Catalan, UP Masscomm intern)
