Sports Exchange to host 10-ball event

Saturday, March 20, 2010

AS PART of the company’s thrust in helping Cebuano talents in sports, the Sports Exchange Bar will hold its 1st 10-Ball Challenge at its fully-air conditioned billiard hall at the 3rd floor of Mango Square.

Kevin Cook, an expat who owns the bar, said the tournament is open to all Cebuano cue artists and even those from neighboring provinces.

The event, which will start at 1 p.m tomorrow , will have a four-day elimination series. The top four players in each day will advance to the knockout round-of-16.

Aside from the trophies, a cash prize of P20,000 is up for grab for the champion, while the runner-up will get P8,000. The third and fourth placers will receive P4,000, each. The other 12 qualifiers will get a consolation prize of P300 each.

Sun.Star Publishing Network along with Proteus, Crew Asia, Pacific Electrix Ltd., Y101 and San Miguel is supporting the event.

“This is our little way of reaching out to the Cebuano cue artists. We believe that there are lot of talents here, and we want to be part of the development. This is just the start, and hopefully we can do more,” said Cook who is also very thankful to some companies who extend their support in this affair. (JBM of Superbalita)
