“We encourage this route for runners who want to improve their speed for regular training,” said Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal of Run for Sight.
Larrazabal has assured runners that they will enjoy the route as they will see for themselves the beauty of Cebu and the Kawasan Falls, which is last stop for the race.
People from the three municipalities will be cheering for the runners along the streets as they attempt to borrow this concept of the Boston Marathon, which is known for its lively run.
Registration fee is P700 for the 21K and P900 for the 42k. Runners can register at Center for Sight at Cebu Doctors University and Cebu Doctors Hospital Branches and at Nike Athletic Club at Banilad Town Center.
Registration period will end on June 24 and race packs will be made available on June 1.
Organizers will limit the slots to 500 for the half marathon and 500 to full marathon runners. The run has already attracted 150 for the 42k and 100 for the 21K.
Organizers will also offer a free round trip bus ride on the midnight of July 23 on a first- come, first-served basis.
Succeeding bus trips will be arranged by the organizers if more runners want to avail themselves of the free transportation.
Runners who wish to spend the night may bring their sleeping mat and sleep at the public school across the old church, where the run will start.
