IS it true that they are at it again?
I mean, that--hold your horses, fellas--a Pacquiao-Marquez fight is in the offing, yet again?
Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos.
After three fights, we need a fourth one?
After three fights with Pacquiao the winner of two after the first one ended in a questionable draw, we need a fourth one?
After three fights and Marquez suffering four knockdowns in the first two fights, we need a fourth one?
What for? To make Pacquiao the winner yet again--on points--and then delight in hearing a mindless mob howl that Marquez was robbed, yet again?
Ah, what are we up to, this time, if not another boxing trapeze set to traipse into yet another infamy.
What’s happening to the world, attorney?
Attorney, here, of course is Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao’s American promoter.
Arum, a Harvard-educated lawyer, was quoted as saying he would arrange for a fourth Pacquiao-Marquez fight, either in May or June, in, yes, Las Vegas--yet again.
Never mind the hail of hits the fight might draw from a camp steeped in the machinations of pugilism.
Toss out the window the cynics out to label the fight, “The Boredom of the Century.”
Of course, there’s always a ready reason to counter criticisms, to derail the heckling of the rabble-rousers.
For, take this: Arum, the wisest man on planet boxing, can take care of that. There’s nothing in Arum’s arsenal that can’t handle one obstacle after another.
When it comes to hurdling a boxing steeplechase, Arum is incomparable.
But in the end, though, we simply refuse to stop acting blind.
Is three fights not enough to prove that Pacquiao can never knock Marquez out?
A knockdown, yes, but a knockout?
Seemingly, if not realistically, Pacquiao can never and will never knock Marquez out.
There is such an animal that one can never bust.
Goliath had his David.
Caesar had his Cleopatra.
Bonaparte had his Waterloo.
And, yes, Adam had his Eve.
We never learn, indeed.
Marquez cannot even knock Pacquiao down even once in 36 rounds and we want him to fight the Pacman again?
Don’t look far now; the biggest heist in boxing is in town.
The Pacquiao-Marquez IV is right there in your Facebook.
