CYBL attracts 38 teams

THE Cebu Youth Basketball League (CYBL) has gotten bigger this year as it attracted 38 teams that will compete in three age divisions for its fifth season that will kick off this weekend at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Mango Campus Gym.

Returning to defend their respective crowns are 16-Under champion University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 13-Under winner SHS-AdC and 10-Under titleholder University of San Carlos (USC) North Campus.

In this year’s season, CYBL is supported by ThreeSixty Pharmacy and the tournament is called the ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup 2012.

“We are happy to partner with the CYBL. It’s a young league growing so quickly and we’re glad to be supporting the growth of youth basketball in Cebu,” said ThreeSixty Pharmacy Business Operations Head Len Ramos.

CYBL tournament director Rico Navarro expects a huge year for the CYBL, which has three more participating teams for this season.

“We have so many plans for the CYBL now that we’re on our fifth year and there’s so much more room for growth. With ThreeSixty Pharmacy as a partner, we’re confident about getting things done,” he said.

Contending against USJ-R for the 16-Under title are University of the Visayas (UV), Cebu Eastern College (CEC), two teams from SHS-AdC, Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) and USC South Campus.
