USC surprises Sacred Heart in CYBL

THE University of San Carlos (USC) South took over the solo lead in Group B of the 16-Under division following a 31-28 come-from-behind win over Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu 1 (SHS-AdC) last weekend in the Cebu Youth Basketball League ThreeSixty Pharmacy Cup.
Going into the final stanza, USC South was trailing SHS-AdC 1, 24-20, but slowly picked up the pace to take the lead, 28-27, with just 1:08 left in regulation.

USC South held on to its slim lead to take the top spot of Group B with a 2-0 record, while SHS-AdC 1 fell to 2-1 and was relegated to second place.
In Group A of the 16-Under age class, SBP 16-Under champions University of Visayas (UV) continued to gather victories as it won its first game in the tournament with a 67-47 thrashing over University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R). UV is now second with
a 1-0 slate, while USJ-R fell to 0-2.
On the other hand, SHS-AdC-A defeated Don Bosco-A, 36-27, while Cebu Eastern College (CEC) edged out UV, 37-35, in the 13-Under category.
In the 10-Under division, USJ-R beat USC North, 14-10, while USC South overwhelmed SHS-AdC, 25-9.
In the Division B results, USC South-B scored a lopsided 32-6 whipping over Don Bosco-B in the 13-Under division, while St. Paul Learning Center also beat Don Bosco-B, 23-14. USJ-R B beat Cviraa Grade School squad, 52-46; Medellin trampled Nissi Academy, 78-36; Don Bosco-B overpowered Mcec, 61-36, and USC South-B, 43-37; and USC South-B captured a win over CIE, 47-30 in the Division B 16-Under games.
