“We are aiming for a grassroots sports program involving 20,000 kids in 14 sports this summer,” said commissioner Eduard Hayco told Sun.Star Cebu.
Of the 20,000 kids, 5,000 will be formed into teams that will compete in the culminating activity during the sports fest.
“These will be an additional attraction of the Cebu Fest. These kids will only compete among each other not against those teams with experienced teams. They will have a separate competition,” Hayco said.
The 14 events that will be contested in are arnis, baseball, softball, dancesport, basketball, volleyball, chess, badminton, table tennis, sepak, taekwando, boxing, athletics.
