Convergys clobbers JP Morgan

FOR the first time in the E-League’s eight year history, one team failed to score a single basket in a quarter.
This was how the Convergys Wolves picked a 66-point route, 96-30 over the undermanned JP Morgan and Chase Bankers in the Sun Cellular-CSCC E-League 2012 held at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym last Saturday.
Not to be outdone, last year’s losing finalists Lexmark Stallions scored its second win after losing its first two via a 104-51 victory over the Eli Global Underdogs.
Convergys’ defense held JP Morgan without a score in the entire second quarter as the Wolves scored 30 points, coming from a 27-4 first quarter and followed by a 13-8 third quarter blitz.
Joshua Yam scored the game high 24 points, and Nathanael Caparoso, Mark Gonda and Ellison Rivera each scored 16 points as Convergys stayed unbeaten after three games.
Mariel Barrera was the only JP Morgan player to score in double figures with 12 points.
Lexmark, meanwhile, displayed tough defense in the early goings as they put up a 28-8 scoring in the first quarter and did not cease from playing tough at both ends of the court to pick up second straight win after losing its first two matches.
