IF Bob Arum is not faking it that he wants the Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley result probed then he’s got company.

That man is none other than Romulo B. Macalintal, a noted election lawyer who makes it a point to watch every Pacquiao fight whether it’s held in Las Vegas or not.

Macalintal, Romy to his close friends, was at ringside once again during the Pacquiao-Bradley bout. He said he couldn’t stomach the split decision result favoring Bradley.

Here’s Macalintal’s e-mail to me from Norwalk City, California:

“The unanimous scores of the five-member panel of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) finding Manny Pacquiao the winner over Timothy Bradley all the more strengthened the complaint I filed with the Nevada Attorney General to conduct an inquiry on the highly controversial scoring made by the judges who found Bradley the winner.

“My complaint is not intended to change the result as declared by the judges, nor to make Pacquiao win which is also the position of the WBO despite its aforesaid findings. It is more intended to protect boxing fans and enthusiasts who all deserve a fair and correct judgment, and at the same time to assure unknown boxers that their rights and interests are also protected when they climb up the ring.

“While there might be truth to the saying that ‘there is no use crying over spilled milk,’ there is also the imperative need to ‘cry why the milk was spilt.’

“I took it upon myself to file the said complaint because no one took the cudgels to formally and officially air to the concerned agency of the State of Nevada the grievances of the more than 80 million Filipinos who cried out loud that Pacquiao won and the millions of boxing fans all over the world who also rose in rightful indignation against the controversial split decision in favor of Bradley.”

“The said complaint was officially received by Ms K. Renaldi of the Office of the Nevada Attorney General on June 18 and is expected to be acted upon in due time by the said office.”

On behalf of the Filipino people, good luck, Romy.
