FILIPINO prospect Eric Kelly continues to prove that he is one of the best featherweights in Asia with his second straight victory in the biggest stage of Asian MMA – the One FC.
Following a stunning submission win over famous Singapore-based American Mitch Chilson last September, Kelly, a disciple of the Filipino martial art discipline Yaw-Yan, posted a hard-earned unanimous decision win over South Korean featherweight Bae Young Kwon last Saturday night in One FC 4 – Destiny of Warriors at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Kelly improved his record to 7-0, while Kwon fell to 7-3.
In the main event, former Strikeforce champion and UFC veteran Renato “Babalu” Sobral (37-9) showed his long layoff didn’t bother him as he quickly beat Dream Grand Prix finalist Tatsuya Mizuno (11-8) with an armbar in just 31 seconds.
