7 dangerous names from Mindanao rock Cebu

VISTING warriors from Mindanao who will see action this Saturday night in Ground and Pound VI–“Invincible” MMA event will hit Cebu soil tomorrow.
Butuan Extreme MMA stalwart Lorde Rey “The Punisher” Yamit heads a group of seven fighters that compose Team Mindanao.
Yamit is gunning for the inaugural Ground and Pound Championship (GPC) lightweight crown against Mandaue City’s Mark “The Terminator” Araneta in the main event at the Cebu Coliseum.
The other MMA warriors from Mindanao are Rocky Tune Batolbatol, Jonathan Esquierdo,
Urtych Alarin, Israel Gomez, Carlo Mabilin and Brian Paciete.
The sixth installment of Yaw-Yan Ardigma’s Ground and Pound series is the first Games and Amusement Board-sanctioned MMA event here in Cebu.
Tickets are sold at P1,000 for the VIP row, P500 for ringside seats, P300 for the lower box area and P150 for upper box chairs.
Another title is also at stake in the kickboxing main event as Yaw-Yan Ardigma’s Renan Noblefranca takes on Steve Sevilleno for the Yaw-Yan Fighting Challenge Championship bantamweight belt.
The MMA show also features a three-round kick-boxing bout between two Cebu kick boxing club founders. Although way past their primes, 41-year-old Soma Kick Boxing Club founder Allan “The Dancing Man” Epile locks horns with 60-year-old Durex Dragon Kick Boxing Club creator Ben “Durex Warrior” Torbiso.
