THE Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. football competition is set to open on Aug. 19 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
It will officially start the matches among collegiate teams, consisting of defending champion University of San Carlos, runner-up University of Southern Philippines-Foundation, University of Cebu, University of San Jose- Recoletos and University of the Visayas.
The 11-a-side tournament will be held every Sunday until its championship match on Oct. 7 at the Aboitiz Sportsfield.
“It will only be during the championship that we will have a different venue because it will be the same schedule of the Milo Marathon Cebu qualifiers,” said Cesafi Football Tournament Director Francis Ramirez.
The secondary matches will start at later date on Sept. 8 after the Milo Little Olympics Football event, which will be on Aug. 24-26.
Don Bosco Technical Center will return to defend its title against Sacred Heart Ateneo de Cebu and junior teams of USC, USJR and USPF.
The games for the secondary teams will be played every Saturday.
Ramirez already confirmed that there will be no overlapping of schedule for the upcoming Aboitiz Cup set to start in September as they already synchronized the schedules to avoid conflict.
“Walay bangga kay unahon man namo ang age group categories, tong Players 6, 8, 10,
Boys 14 and 14,” said Ramirez.
