Arce out, Nishioka in as Donaire’s next foe

NONITO Donaire Jr. is going to have a huge step in competition in his next fight as he faces one of the best in the super bantamweight division.
According to The Ring Magazine website, Top Rank head Bob Arum said that Donaire Jr., the World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Federation (IBF) super bantamweight titleholder, is slated to face two-division world champion Toshiaki Nishioka at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Donaire Jr. was supposed to fight Mexican star Jorge Arce next.
The 36-year-old Japanese boxing icon is 39-4-3 with 24 knockouts and is unbeaten for almost eight years. Nishioka has fought and beaten some of the best in his division, the likes of Rafael Marquez and Jhonny Gonzalez, and has won 16 straight fights, wherein eight were world title fights.
Nishioka’s last fight was in October in which he beat Marquez by unanimous decision.
Donaire Jr., 29-1 with 18 knockouts, captured the IBF crown in his last fight when he dethroned Jeffrey Mathebula by unanimous decision.
