MEXICAN warriors Jorge Pazos and Angel Martinez along with their trainers are scheduled to hit Cebu this morning.
Pazos will see action in his first 12-round fight in the supporting main event against unbeaten Genesis Servania for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific super bantamweight strap this Saturday at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City in “Pinoy Pride XV – Philippines vs. Mexico – The Rematch.”
Pazos, 20-3 with 13 knockouts, sees this fight as a huge career opportunity for him to make a name for himself and break the world rankings. Servania, 18-0 with six knockouts, is one of the more promising young fighters of the ALA Gym.
Martinez, on the other hand, is taking on former world title contender Jimrex Jaca in a 10-round affair.
Martinez, 13-2-1 with nine knockouts, has shown no respect for Jaca’s power and vows to send the once highly-touted Filipino pug to dreamland.
This is Jaca’s comeback fight after a year out of action. Despite having the advantage in experience, Jaca (34-6-3) should have his hands full against the young and hard-hitting Mexican.
Martinez’s two losses both come from some of the elite in his division – highly-rated Lucas Matthysse and former world title challenger Ricardo Dominguez.
On the other hand, the leader of Team Mexico, Rosbel Montoya, will arrive in Cebu tomorrow at 11:55 p.m.
Montoya, 36-4-1 with 30 knockouts, will be in a rematch with Jason Pagara, 28-2 with 17 knockouts.
