DAVE Peñalosa passed the toughest test of his young boxing career with flying colors following an impressive demolition over Thai Yodpichai Sithsaithong last Saturday night at the Mandaluyong Gym in Mandaluyong City.
Peñalosa, the son of two division world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa, stopped Sithsaithong in the 2:05 mark of the fourth round.
The 21-year-old Cebuano remained unbeaten with a 5-0 record with three knockouts, while Sithsaithong dropped to 7-6 with three knockouts.
Dave and his older brother Dodie Boy Peñalosa, both undefeated, have followed in the footsteps of their father, Dodie Sr., and their uncle, two-division world champion Gerry Peñalosa, carrying on the legacy of the Peñalosa fighting family.
Meanwhile, Eden Sonsona (29-6, 9 KOs) also breezed through his Thai opponent, Petchnamnung Sithsaithong (9-3, 7 KOs), with a second round knockout.
