CEBU-BASED Kenyans will be gracing the first marathon in Bohol, on Sept. 9 at the Bohol Beach Club.
The Kenyans will be competing along with 800 others in the full, half-marathon and the 5K fun run.
The run spearheaded by Bohol Runners Club (BRC) features a looped route around Panglao Island.
The organizers said they already achieved that target number of runners since they opened their registration last June. They are, however, still expecting more to join as students from different schools are tipped to join.
The group decided to go full marathon after their successful hosting of the half-marathon last year during the Bohol Sandugo Panglao Run.
Almost 200 registrants are listed respectively in the 42K and 21K. All finishers in both categories will receive a shirt and medal.
"They should be ready for the heat and the uphill parts," said Geraldine Bartolata of BRC.
Runners from Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong and Denmark are also joining.
The best finishers in the marathon will take home P20,000, while P15,000 and P10,000 for the second and third placers.
In the 21K open, the winners will pocket P10,000 followed by P6,000 for the second placer and P4,000 for the third placer.
