Canoy, Kawakami win Alta Vista monthly medal

THE duo of Dennis Canoy and Masahisa Kawakami won the September Monthly Medal of the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

The duo just won the Thailand leg of the Sta. Lucia Golf Tour last month.

Canoy scored a 49, while Kawakami had a 98 to lead Division 1.

The Gao brothers, Wei-Wei and Wei-Yu, with 87 points took the second spot via a count back over Enrico Solon and Ed Acain.

Wei-Wei, the elder of the two brothers, had 51 points while Wei-Yu added 36.

Solon had 47 points while Acain shot 40 also for 87 points, but they landed third as the brothers had a higher total for their back nine.

In Division 2, the father and son tandem of Nestor and Marvin Mendoza secured the title after finishing with 91 points.

The all-doctor team of Zoe Lim and Jerry Uyheng finished second, while Jun Dayot and Jun Zambo came in third.

Jun Tolentino and Anthony Bejar ruled Division 3 with a total of 70 points.  Brucedy Chan and Jude Demiar came in second, winning via countback over Wilson Yu and Ari Lee.

The Seniors Division was ruled by Razy Razon and Rolando Alberto.

In the guest division, Tata Callora took the lowest gross with 86, while the lowest net winner was Christian Faust.

Alex Yeo won a special prize for being nearest to the pin on hole number six while Arnel Kwan had the most accurate drive on the 11th. (PR)
