DEFENDING champions Stream Ingenyouity found the needed help from two unlikely heroes, Louie Arroyo and Michael Recla, to extend their series after a 62-49 win over Aegis Vipers in the Northern Conference title race of the Sun Cellular-CSCC E-League 2012 at the City Sports Club-Cebu last Saturday.
The Teletech Titans also kept their hopes alive as they outscored Sykes Pioneers in all quarters for a 59-43 win in Game 2 of the Southern Conference Finals.
Stream was shooting for a chance to return to the E-League Finals at press time, while Sykes, who won the first-ever title, was also gunning for a return to the finals after five years of absence.
Pushed against the wall with its offense already marked, Stream found valuable help to keep their hopes alive.
Arroyo, who finished with 12 points, and Recla, who made 10, allowed Ingenyouity to pull away in the second period after leading 14-11 in the opening quarter.
Reigning Rookie-MVP Sylvester Millevo was the other Stream player to finish in double-digits with 11 points, while Steve Navaja had 10 to lead Aegis.
Teletech, meanwhile, started the game with an 11-5 run and expanded it to 28-16 at halftime. They also dominated the boards, 41-22, in forcing a deciding Game 3.
Sherwin Resilla played a monster game as he delivered a game high 22 points and 13 rebounds and two blocks.
