DTCC wins 11 golds in nat’l. finals

THE Team Cebu City dance athletes performed another astounding performance, this time winning 11 gold medals in the 16th DanceSports Council of the Philippines Inc. (DSCPI) National DanceSport Championship 2012 in Metro Manila yesterday.
The sweetest win came from Marian Camacho and Manuel Reyes, who won one of the most coveted titles in the competition—the Standard Professional event.
The tournament attracted 176 pairs from all over the country.
Also winning the gold medal for Cebu were Bernie Tumarong and Miljane Camacho, who topped the Standard Grade Amateur category.
Carl Nathanyl Papellero and his partner Jasmine Labra bagged two golds following their dominance in the Juvenile 3 Dance Standard and Latin categories.
Gylle Niño Diluvio and Andreah Kiem Capangpangan also won two gold medals after sweeping the Latin and Standard Juvenile A competition, while Cebu danceports godmother Eleanor Hayco and Anselmo Estillore also won two gold medals after winning the Latin Special Event 5 Dance Competition. She won a third gold in the Latin Senior C gold medal with Davin Unabia.
The other golden pairs were Jeffrey Benarao and Mary Joy Dumosmog (Youth C Standard); Andrew Ysla and Therese Andre’ Quilaton (Latin Junior C); and siblings Zjiane Troy and Zjiana Tracy Villarta, who won the Latin Junior A gold medal.
Aside from the 11 gold medals TCC DanceSports also brought home 12 silver medals, four bronze medals and four pairs were finalists.
The silver medalists were James Bryan and Christine Camacho (Standard Junior C and Latin Junior C), the Villartas (Standard Junior A), Bert Kevin Deluvio and Jam Flores (Standard Youth C), Jeffrey Benarao and Mary Joy Dumosmog (Standard Youth A, Latin Youth C and Youth A), Jimmy Noel and Elizabeth Zetz (Standard Senior C and Latin Sr. C), Samson Orlanes and Mae Pabuaya (Latin SE1F- C and Grade B) and couple Serafin Villodres III & Evelou Villodres (Latin Sr. A).
