“It’s nice to be back.”
This is what University of the Visayas (UV) head coach Raffy Briones said after his lifetime ban from coaching in the Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation (Cesafi) was lifted after he submitted a letter of reconsideration.
Briones was among the three coaches who got sanctioned after a walkout during the men’s division semifinal games in 2009. The other two were University of Southern
Philippines Foundation’s Cecil Jotojot and University of San Carlos’ Roderick Arenasa.
“It’s been two years. I am just happy that it is over and I am back to what I love doing,” Briones said during the second day of elimination of the Cesafi beach volley tournament.
His players, Mike Abria and Mark Anthony Fernandez , who are the Prisaa National champions, are still undefeated in six games after earning three wins against the University of Cebu (UC), 21-16,21-16, University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R), 21-14,21-19 and University of San Carlos (USC).
