Colonnade chess tilt offers P20,000

SOME P20,000 in cash prizes will be given to the winners of the 2nd Colonnade Mall Open Chess Grand Prix on Oct. 27 and 28 at the mall’s Food Court.
This tournament is a National Chess Federation of the Philippines-rated individual chess event open to all rated and non-rated players. It is organized by the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca) and backed by Colonnade Mall, Rose Pharmacy Inc. and Julie’s Bakeshop.
The tournament will use the seven-round Swiss System format with 40 minutes time control plus five-second increments for each move.
The champion of this event will go home with P5,000 and a trophy, while the the runner-up earns P3,000. The third and second placers will get P2,000 and P1,000 respectively.
The fifth to 12th placers will get P500 each.
The top kiddies, ladies, junior and senior performer will also earn P500.
Registration fee is P200 for the regular players, P75 for the Kiddies and the Ladies division and P100 for the Juniors players.
